Integration Engineer Intern - Operations Group

Tel Aviv, Israel · Hourly · Intern

About The Position

ChargeAfter is pioneering the embedded lending network for point-of-sale consumer financing for merchants and financial institutions. Powered by a network of lenders and a data-driven matching engine, ChargeAfter streamlines the distribution of credit into a single, secure, and reliable embedded lending platform. Merchants can rapidly implement ChargeAfter's omni-channel platform online, in-store, and at every point of sale, enabling them to provide personalized financing choices to their customers.

Every merchant and lender on our network is configured, validated, and maintained by the Operations team. We do this through an internal Python platform we built and own end to end. We're looking for a sharp student to help us extend it -and, from time to time, to step out of the code and help a merchant or lender get their integration working.

This role sits inside the Operations team, close to both the product and the customer. You'll build the tooling, and you'll see it used - sometimes by our own team, sometimes on a call with a merchant who needs their integration fixed today. If you enjoy building critical tools that customers rely on, if you’re happy being the go-to-person who solves real production blockers, let’s talk.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and extend our internal Python automation platform, which drives merchant and partner onboarding across all environments
  • Write and maintain MongoDB scripts and queries for configuration, validation, and reporting tasks
  • Build validation and safety logic that catches configuration errors before they reach production
  • Use AI coding & Automation tools as part of your day-to-day workflow to move faster on real tasks
  • Support recurring configuration requests from internal teams -and identify which of them can be automated
  • Join integration or debug sessions with merchants and lending partners, helping them trace issues through API requests, configuration, and logs

Requirements

  • Students in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, from leading Israeli institutions with GPA above 84
  • Ability to commit to ~50% (2–3 days per week), with a minimum of 2 days in-office and ability to commit to working in shifts
  • Solid Python fundamentals -you've written more than coursework exercises
  • Comfortable reading and reasoning about structured data (JSON, nested configuration objects)
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a growth mindset
  • Fluent English, written and spoken -you'll occasionally be on calls with international merchants and partners
  • Good communication skills and comfort explaining technical detail to non-engineers
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently on well-scoped tasks
  • Third-year student (or above) with at least one year of studies remaining before graduation

Nice to Have

  • Experience with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases
  • Experience working with REST APIs and debugging HTTP traffic (Postman, browser dev tools, or similar)
  • Hands-on use of AI development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot)
  • Git and basic scripting
